Who is Jessie and Studio Calypso?
Jessie is a contemporary Artist living in Central Florida. Born in 1994 on the twin islands of Trinidad and Tobago and moved to the states in 2003. Art and writing has always played a major role in her life- it was her escape, her joy, and her first love. Creating was her way of controlling her corner of the world. Studio Calypso is her way to bring that joy and love to others. After many years of keeping her art to herself, Studio Calypso was born to bring her joy of color to the world.
What mediums do you work in?
Jessie is a multi-media artist whose practice spans acrylic, mosaic, watercolor, fiber, pencil, charcoal, clay, wire, and fabric. Her work explores texture, color, and storytelling through a diverse range of materials, weaving together expressive imagery and tactile elements that reflect themes of connection, resilience, and nature.

Beyond the canvas, we build community by offering creative spaces, workshops, and collaborations that reconnect people with their inner creativity and with each other.
