Under a blanket of stars, she glows — half sun, half spirit — resting in a wild garden where flowers bloom even through the night. Beside her lies a tiger, not fierce but tender, a symbol of strength, its breath warm against her skin. Together they embody something beyond survival — a quiet, steady kind of strength.
This piece was created for the “50 Shades of Pink: Breast Cancer Awareness Show at the Starry Night Gallery in Dayton Beach. It began as a meditation on hope, healing, and resilience — an offering to every woman who has carried light through darkness. The figure’s radiant sun-face symbolizes the warmth that remains even after pain, while the tiger represents courage that softens rather than hardens, a strength that rests instead of roars.
Painted in layers of pinks, corals, and golds — colors inspired by both skin and sunrise — the piece came to life slowly, each brushstroke a prayer for renewal. The flowers grew around her like guardians, reminding me that beauty persists, even when life feels fragile.
“With Hope, She Rises” is a story of tenderness and endurance — a reminder that the body may ache, but the spirit continues to bloom.
On display at the Strray Night Gallery Daytona Beach from October 3rd -October 29th.
